Course Description: This course is for the practicing massage therapist to learn the basics of cancer and cancer treatment and how to work safely and effectively with a client who has had a diagnosis of cancer.  The class will cover a few ways to modify a massage to address safely and comfort concerns before, during, and after treatment, and will also provide information on when to refer a client to a specialist rather than risk harm. This class covers some of the same material as the 24hr CE Oncology Massage Essentials class, but does not provide enough hours to become a preferred provider with the Society for Oncology Massage.
